It's all about the Pastel Green

Everywhere I go I can't stop seeing this pastel green colour in clothing stores, I absolutely love this spring trend and it just makes me feel so warm and summery inside. One of my favorite fashion trends this year so far has to be the pastel green handbags, I love the brightness of the colour and by adding a pastel handbag to your outfit is a quick way of brightening up any outfit for spring or summer.

I know, I have just brought two new bag however in my view a girl can never have too many handbags and I don't own anything like this bag or anything in this colour. There are so many pastel green handbags to choose from in the shops at the moment however I settled on the Skye satchel from Oasis. On the front it has a metallic twist lock and inside contains on big compartment with a zip to close the bag up. I really love bags with zips inside to stop any wandering hands getting into your bag.

Recipe: Fudge Cookies

Fudge Cookies

Ingredients:
100g of Unsalted Butter
100g Light Brown Soft Sugar
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
150 Self-Raising Flour
50g Fudge pieces

1. Preheat your oven to 180 C (gas mark 4) and line baking trays with grease proof paper
2. Using a electric hand mixer beat the butter and light brown soft sugar together until fluffy

3. Add the golden syrup and mix together for another minute

4. Add in the fudge pieces and flour into the mixture and use a spoon to mix until it forms into dough
5. Then use your hands to divide the dough into small balls and place them spread out onto the baking tray

6. Cook for around 12-15 minutes or until they are lightly brown around the edges

The original recipe did come from a book I brought from Sainsbury's called the "Baking Recipe Collection by Sainsbury's" (for only £5!) and you can find the original recipe for Butterscotch Chip cookies in there. I did changed the recipe by adding self-raising flour and fudge pieces instead, if you have a large family like I have, I normal double up the ingredients so it makes double the amount of cookies.

Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Small Black Cross Body Bag Review

After selling my two of my Rebecca Minkoff Morning after Clutch (Mini Macs) handbags, I decided I wanted a handbag that was simple in style and that would go with most items that I wear. So I decided to go the Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Small cross body bag in black with gold hardware.

After doing my research, I found this handbag on the House of Frasers website and it seemed the only place in the UK that seem to stock the bag because everywhere else was sold out. It does come in three colours at the moment blue, red and black, I really hope they bring it in out in their class brown colour with silver hardware. It took a few days to arrive however; I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with a dust bag to keep it in. I did contact the company and they told me this was how Michael Kors has sent it to them.

Unlike the Rebecca Minkoff Morning after clutch bags, the main strap is adjustable and only a small part of the bag strap where it meets the body of the bag contains chain. Whereas the main thing that annoyed me the most about the Rebecca Minkoff bags was that the strap was mainly made out of chain, which when using the bag made it very noisy every time you put the bag and I think it was just because chain straps don't really suit my lifestyle. Other than that, I think her handbags are perfect for people looking for a designer handbag that is not too expensive and they do come in a wide range of colours. Looking at the both bags I feel that they both have the same amount of space inside them however the Michael Kors bag is a lot more bigger in size.

Other Features of the bag:

  • Gold hardware
  • Logo on front of bag, zip and strap adjuster
  • Adjustable strap
  • One phone and other side pocked inside at the front of the bag
  • Large back slip pocket inside the back of the bag
  • 24cm Long, 16cm high
  • Michael Kors lining inside the bag

Nica Brown Bird Cross Body Handbag

One of my obsessions in life is handbags, anyone who knows me knows how addicted to handbags I can be and lately I been doing really well this year in not buying any, however when I saw this Nica handbag I just had to add it to my collection. For a while now, I was looking for a Nica cross body bag because my Accessorize bag had started to see better days. Everywhere I go I see people with these bags and I love how these bags are designed to be stylish but are still very practical.

Last week I noticed on the TK Max website, they have started stocking the brand Nica and they didn't seem to have much of a selection online so I decide to take a look in store. For me, TK Max can be a bit hit and miss however hanging in the brown bag section was this cross body Nica bag, only one of them was left and I felt it was just meant to be. I noticed that the bag also came in a baby pink colour and a few other Nica bags in different designs but I have to stop myself getting carried away. I don't know a lot about the brand but I believe this bag was from a few seasons ago because they seem to have now changed the logo on their bags.

The bag is made out of soft fake leather with a adjustable strap to adjust the length of the bag and inside it contains a bright coloured lining with a inside zip compartment and side pocket. It perfectly sized to fit in all your essentials and is perfect if you don't want to carry a lot with you. Nica bags usually range from £25-£55, and I pick this up for £16.99 what I thought was amazing price.

Friday 14 March 2014

One of my past hobbies when I was little was to collect coins with different designs on and everytime a new coin was made with a different design my Grandad use to save them and give me and brothers and sister one each to keep. I lost my Granadad a few years ago however by seeing new coins with new designs on always reminds me of him and I think that is why I still collect them now.

Anyway, for a while now i have been searching for something to put my collection in and came across some collecting books that The Royal Mint have created for their Great British Coin Hunt series. They have created four coin collecting books in the series for £2, £1, 50p and 50p Olympic British coins.

I really love how simple the books have been designed to look and they seem to be made out of very sturdy card material. Also there are even slots for coins that are going to be made later in 2014 and 2015. The only let down for the albums is the completer medallions because there is a space for one in every album however they all have the same design and size. If there wasn't a hole for the completer medallion, I don't think I would of brought it as there is nothing really that special about it.

Overall I think these collector albums are great for coin collectors who are looking for something to organise there collection in and they are a good way in seeing which coins are missing in your collection. I also think these are great for kids who want to start collecting coins because inside the books there are really interesting facts about the coins and which coins will be harder to find than others. I also think they are very cleverly price at only £5 each and to me they look a lot more expensive than they actually are and the postage cost does not work out to bad if you are ordering more than one

Mini Spring Haul

First week in March and it has finally stopped raining and the sun has started to shine which has got me in the mood for some new spring clothes. Last week, I placed a small order online from Dorothy Perkins and ASOS which came today.

Top: Mint Floral Front Sweat from Dorothy Perkins (Link)
Bottom: Indigo Stud Super skinny Jeans from Dorothy Perkins (Link)
Shoes: Converse All Star Ox Trainers from ASOS (Link)

At the moment I love anything to do with pastel colours with either butterflies or flowers printed on tops at the moment. I have had my eye on a warehouse top, where the front panel had a lovely flower pattern on and then on the back panel and the sleeves were just normal fabric.
Warehouse: CLUSTER FLORAL PRINT L/S TOP £30 (Link)

Then last week while browsing online for some jeans on Dorothy Perkins, I spotted a top just like it but for half the price. I do love Warehouse clothes however I tend to find them a bit over priced for what they are and I did have a discount code which made the top at Dorothy Perkins even cheaper.

Bye for now, Anna x
